About the Works

Ney Rosauro’s Concerto for Marimba is one of the most popular works for marimba and has been performed by over 3,000 orchestras worldwide. It is distinguished by its incorporation of Brazilian motifs and jazz elements.

Felix Mendelssohn’s Quartet No. 2 reflects deeply the influence of Beethoven and expands the classical form with romantic expression, using a quote from Mendelssohn’s song “Ist es wahr?” as a connecting motif.

David J. Long’s Concerto for Marimba, arranged by Benjamin Schüle for marimba and piano quintet, demands both technical and musical excellence from the musicians, offering an energy-packed combination of virtuoso passages and expressive melodies.

About the Artists

Benjamin Schüle has dedicated himself as a percussionist especially to the marimba and four-mallet technique and developed a new playing technique that combines the advantages of the Stevens and Burton techniques.

The Eleas Quartet brings together four outstanding young musicians from Switzerland, Germany, Portugal, and South Africa, known for their versatile repertoire and commitment to contemporary music.

Raphaëlle Proust has a preference for chamber music and contemporary works, establishing herself both as a soloist and a chamber musician.
